Biography
Péter-Dániel Szántó studied Indology and Tibetology at the ELTE Budapest. He is about to submit his D. Phil. dissertation at the University of Oxford. The thesis deals with a hitherto barely studied Buddhist yoginītantra, the Catuṣpīṭha. Formerly affiliated with Merton College at the same University (Junior Research Fellowship, 2010 to 2013) as well as Hamburg University (2013 to 2014), he is currently post-doctoral research fellow at the All Souls College, University Oxford. His primary research interest is Tantric Buddhism in India from the 9th to the 13th century, with special attention to Sanskrit manuscripts containing works from that period. He is currently working on a new edition of the Gurupañcāśikā, an edition of the Samvarodayā maṇḍalopāyikā, and an edition of the Anāvilatantra.
