About the CTS Website
Encoding, Fonts and Standards
Content on the CTS website is encoded according to the UTF-8 (Unicode) standard. Questions about the display and encoding of South Asian languages are addressed in the Unicode Consortium’s Indic Scripts and Languages FAQ.
Please ensure that your browser is set to automatically recognise UTF-8 encoding. (For example, in Firefox, use ‘View > Character Encoding’; in Safari, ‘View > Text Encoding’; in Internet Explorer, ‘View > Encoding’.) For best viewing results, we recommend installing the FreeSerif and FreeSans fonts from the FreeFont project. FIXME: Uni-HH font doesn't have the necessary diacritic combinations yet to display transliterated Sanskrit.
A non-exhaustive table of diacritics used in our e-texts may be found in the following file: diacritics-table.txt.
